Münster Qatch Challenger Cup
The first-ever Qatch Challenger Cup in Germany was held on 22 August in Münster. 10 teams competed for the trophy that was won after an unforgettable final by Hellas Münster.
On Saturday 5 women and 5 men teams in two groups played a round-robin system preliminary games. The second-ranked teams from the groups played for the bronze medal while the winners of the group stage proceeded to the final. Both medal matches were high quality, exciting, and close with spectacular rallies witnessed by the local audiences as well as through the live stream provided by www.sportdeutschland.tv. Team Lennard ended up with the bronze medals after having won against Sparta Münster in two sets. The final lasted for more than an hour and in the end, Team Hellas was announced the winner of the Münster Qatch Challenger Cup.
The medal ceremony took place right after the final where besides the representatives of the organizing committee, Alexander Terwolbeck center back of the Bundesliga team HSG Northorn-Lingen, and Attila Heim, Head of Qatch awarded the teams with the prizes.
